Services / Service Process
How document return works in settlement and non-settlement cases, including original-document handling requirements.
In non-settlement cases, the Embassy returns supporting documents to the visa applicant together with the passport and visa outcome.
For settlement applications, supporting documents are normally returned to the UK sponsor unless the application specifically requests otherwise and includes a fully pre-paid return envelope.
Passports and visa decisions are returned directly to the applicant.
Original documents are not returned unless a photocopy was provided with each original at the time of submission.
Ensuring required copies are included is the client's responsibility.
